This summer we were invited by our friends Mo and Jeremy to their wedding near Pisa in Italy. We decided to spend a few extra days over there and have a bit of a holiday.
The first few days we spent in a town near Pisa called Viareggio. It was very close to the beach and the ladies at the cafe below our hotel wanted to kidnap Rupert.
Our hotel was a bit of a squeeze but we were only there for 2 nights so it was no biggie.
On to Barga for the wedding where our accommodation was in an apartment that was part of a big old barn conversion. The views were stunning.
There were lots of families staying alongside us and the kids had a great time.
Childcare duties were shared amongst the adults...
But we discovered all Alby really needs is a swimming pool...
He spent several hours every day jumping into the water and was very upset when asked to get out for meal times.
Charlie loved having lots of new friends to play with including Mylo Bywater.
Diving for treasure...
A pirate and his ship
Jeremy and Felix
Moana, Nells and babies.
Big Hamish looking after the boys in the water.
Here are most of the babies that were at the wedding. I think there was 9 under the age of 4!
Charlies choice of outfit for the wedding - 'Daddy I am going to the party like a tunnel'
Beautiful Moana and handsome Jeremy Bywater.. just married!
Back to Gatwick Airport where Rupert had the baggage trolley under control.
And home to rides on the dumper with our landlord Mike.
Bath time and clean hair!
Charlie had a bit of a crash while climbing on a log and his face has been all sorts of colours this last week.
After a couple of days at home we drove west to Wales where we stayed in our neighbour Gillie's holiday home, by Broad Haven beach.
The house we stayed in was a little too small at times with 3 boys and 2 dogs, so we visited the local soft play centre to have a run about.
We did lots of exploring on the local walking tracks.
At the beach we looked for treasure in tunnels,
did some surfing,
found lots of cool creatures on the beach,
did some mountain climbing,
Before heading back to the cottage for story time with Gillie.
After four days in Wales we headed home to our house in Englefield Green where the boys had a great time rediscovering all their toys and making a huge mess!
Now we are back into preschool for the two big boys and knuckling down to get ready for our shift home in November.
Ciao!
