Daphne Gillian Rosalie Rutherford

On the 24th of November to our utter shock and absolute delight we welcomed the final member of Team Rutherford - Daphne! She was born at 6.28 am measuring 52 cms and weighing 4.44 kgs (9lb7)

While we didn't know for sure but we were pretty convinced she was going to be a boy so you can imagine our surprise when she appeared!

It was a bit of an ordeal - an emergency cesarean after a 10 hour labour. It took its toll on me a bit but she was perfect and not at all effected by events!

The view from the labour ward at Auckland Hospital was pretty cool...

First cuddles with Dadda.

Meeting her brothers for the first time...

And Aunty Hannah...

Mum of four!

We were in the hospital for 6 days so I spent a lot of time staring at her.

She wasn't so keen on the car seat...

But we are all happy to be home.

Her first bath wasn't so fun.

We've had some special visitors.

Here is Orla.

And Grandma is here for a few weeks to help out while I am on the mend. She is amazing.

Don has been incredible while I have been recovering.

There have been picnics with some geese...

Christmas tree selecting...

And a family evening with lots of our friends. Including dress ups and sack races!

And a trip to the zoo!

We are looking forward to a quiet family christmas with our completed family - hopefully a christmas video to come!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year.

Long overdue catchup!

It is time for a long overdue catchup! We have been so busy we never seem to have time to put photos up... But here is what we have been up to for the last 4 months!

In October Rupert turned 2! He is currently obsessed with Peppa Pig so she featured heavily on  the day!

We had a family and godparent party for him on the 11th...

This was his costume of choice.

And a shared party with Felix Bywater the following week.

He is certainly a typical two year old...! But we love him!

In September we took a trip to visit Grandma and Grandad in Dunedin. It was a lovely week and such a special spot to visit.

Don has been at home over the last few weeks waiting for baby to arrive and has been making the most of his time by doing a bit of demolition and construction...

The shed is now half gone - construction to start soon.

And we have a new deck! It makes such a difference! He had lots of help from the boys and also our lovely nanny Violets boyfriend Justin and his cousin Suley.

In other news the weather has been great and we have spent lots of time in our garden...

There has been a couple of trips to Motat and the Zoo.

A lot of dressing up!

Rupert started preschool.

Don visited Kindy and talked about his work.

There was the Pop the Top festival which we delivered flyers for and Don sung in the choir.

The boys had their football prize giving where Alby asked where his cup was when he wasn't awarded one...

There have been lots of walks...

Orla Hill and I went to see Cats.

We got a Rutherford family rocking chair re upholstered. It looks amazing!

And I turned 21 again...

Enjoying my new chairs!

Now we are just waiting for baby number 4 to arrive...

We will try not to leave it this long till our next post - but can't promise anything!
