Grandma and Grandad Rutherford say 'See You Later'

Grandma and Grandad Rutherford stayed with us for 5 weeks and here are some snaps from the last few weeks of their stay.

Alby caught up on some of Grandad's light reading.

Charlie is now running everywhere (with mixed results!)

Uncle Mark, Aunty Georgie and Uncle Ash came to visit for a Sunday lunch.

We did lots of exploring in the park

And when Prince George was born, we went into central London to witness the 41 gun salute in Green Park.

It was fantastic to have Grandad and Grandma with us for so long and very hard to say goodbye.

The Isles of Scilly

Early in July we went on a fantastic holiday to the Isles of Scilly with Grandma and Granddad Rutherford.

On the drive down, we caught up with Jenny and Andrew Green in Torquay. Unfortunately we failed to take any photos of them or the yummy bacon sarnies Jenny made us. Their bubble machine was a hit however and it was really cool to have a catch up.

That afternoon we took to the air in a little plane.

The boys were very excited!

We stayed in an old stone farm house named Rosevear on one of the smaller islands in the Scilly Isles called St Agnes

It was 5 minutes walk from this beach...

And 10 from this one.

There are no roads on St Agnes, so the only traffic jams you have are when you have to wait for the local cow herd to wander past on the island path.

The weather was great so most evenings we played on the beach between tea time and bath time.

The house had 3 rooms to chill out in so the boys had their own play room to watch dvds and practice their climbing in.

We bought this 'BIG CWAB' from a bucket on the island path for a £1.

And Granddad and Don went fishing just offshore and bought home some mackerel and some pollock.

We had yummy dinners outside using local island produce...

And the boys enjoyed the good weather by having picnics whenever possible.

It was very easy to explore St Agnes as it is only a mile wide at it's widest point.

It was fun having Grandma and Granddad to teach the boys about the creatures that live along the beach.

Alby is going through a jumping phase -  if it is slightly higher than ground level ... jump off it.

We were on the island for a week and it was great for the boys to explore the seaside and play together every day.

It wasnt all plain sailing ..!

We all have some great memories of our time on the Isles of Scilly.

And we will definitely be back!

Charlie's 1st Birthday

Yo!

Did you know it was my 1st birthday last month!

Before my birthday my Granddad and my Dad bought a cool play house from ebay to put in the garden.

It needed a lick of paint and some minor repairs before they put it back together.

Alby and Gabe were VERY excited about the new play house.

Granddad also built a new sandpit on the side of it so now the whole corner of the garden is just for us boys.

On the 13th, it was my Birthday!

I got some new lego, some books and best of all I was given a music station.

Mum and Dad invited all my friends over to play and have a birthday lunch.

and it was very special having Grandma and Granddad to give me cuddles (and more presents!)

In the evening we had our good friends Lou, Wash and Gabe over for a BBQ.

What a great day!
